Economic impact of Ithaca Festival discussed at chamber dinner
The Trumansburg chamber dinner featured Walter Bruska detailing a proposed Ithaca Festival on 73 acres of the old airport site. Plans call for a 1967 theater with 1968 opening, costing about 4.25 million dollars with 325 thousand raised. Estimated summer attendance would boost the area economy into a seven million dollar payroll, and the center could link with Ithaca College and Cornell University. Also, Post 770 American Legion to mark its 47th birthday with a ham and turkey buffet on March 12, reservations urged.

Elizabeth Blatherwick a 17 year old Trumansburg student and Silver dancer leads the Cornell Figure Skating Club’s Telstar on Ice at Lynah Rink with a solo planned for March 18 19. She has trained five years eight tests and ten hours weekly with instructor Joy Barr and has performed in previous club shows and Schumacher events.
