Old institution young librarian in Trumansburg
In June 1811 the Ulysses Philomathic Library was organized by trustees Abner Truman Samuel Ingersoll Jr Minor Thomas Henry Taylor and Cornelius Hanley with Stephen Woodworth as chairman and Herman Camp as librarian. Books were kept at Camp’s store until disbanding in 1839. A new public library formed after a 1934 meeting, later housed in the Trumansburg Lodge 157 F&AM wing and incorporated under New York law.

Ovid opposes appraisal inequities in village records
The Village of Ovid votes to oppose appraisal inequities from United Appraisal Co after residents protest assessments.
