Ovid Youth Center Hosts Santa Visit and Skating Party
The Ovid Youth Center hosted a Christmas visit with Santa on December 23 in the village park drawing about 85 children who received candy canes. A joint ice skating party with Interlaken Youth Center followed on December 30 at Cornell's Lynah Rink with roughly 130 students from fifth grade up, free admission, skating from 3:30 to 5:30, and a $70 shared fee.

CAO Scout Mrs OVID reports the Seven Lakes Council has 8156 members across 392 troops in six counties with 1439 adults. The 43 percent rise since formation brings 28 percent of local girls into scouting, while national figures show 3,321 Brownies 3,304 Juniors 1,139 Cadettes and 393 Seniors. The 1965 goal was 8121 with a 1970 target of 9000 participants.
