Interlaken area residents may take the Peace Corps placement test at 9 a.m. Saturday January 8 at Dewitt Junior High School Ithaca. The test assesses aptitude and language learning potential and is noncompetitive with no pass or fail. Applicants must submit an application before testing.
The Seneca County Board of Supervisors designates official papers for 1966. The Ovid Gazette will carry legal notices and concurrent resolutions, while the Interlaken Review will publish election notices, official canvass, and legal notices.
A group of Romulus Central School alumni home for vacation visited their alma mater on Monday and Tuesday. Notable attendees included Eugene Waugh Marcia Burroughs Sally Wilson Joan Greene Bonnie Gates Joan Tomkins Marylou Kime Becky Byron Janet Karlsen and Mrs Lucy Johnson who presented a $1000 gift from the American Legion Auxiliary to the Oxford Womens Relief Corp Home for salon renovations. Mrs Peabody Interlaken Dept Pres led a reception with punch and cookies and was joined by local Auxiliary leaders.
OVID-Seneca County Clerk Thomas Masten urges motorists renewing registrations to read the mailed brochure with their punch card application. The brochure answers common questions about the new system and can prevent extra calls or office visits.
