Darwin C Smith Building dedicated at Ithaca BOCES Center

The new BOCES Center on Warren Road in Ithaca dedicated the Darwin C Smith Building honoring Dar Smith of Lodi a longtime BOCES board member and South Seneca Central School representative. The ceremony featured remarks by Leo Soucy and Irvin Henry plus tours for about 2000 attendees.

Trumansburg Board Forms Ad Hoc Advisory Committee

The Trumansburg Central School District votes to establish a nine member Ad Hoc Citizens Advisory Committee to assist the Board in selecting a new district principal. Members include one faculty rep one PTA appointee one student rep and six community members. The committee will evaluate candidates but the Board retains final authority and will publicize no interview discussions. A resignation from Miss Nancy Ward is noted for June 30 1971 and a suggestion of a retirement dinner for Mr Dickerson is declined per his wishes.
