Roping Contest Highlight of July 4 Festivities in Fredericksburg
Gillespie County roping club members will form two teams for a July 4th feature at the American Legion sponsored celebration in Fredericksburg. The program includes band concerts and a Main Street parade at 2:30 p.m. and a nighttime dance. Alfred Neffendorf notes further details will follow. Gillespie County Approves Salt Branch Road Upgrade
County commissioners in June ordered a 40 foot wide Salt Branch road from Walter Itz place to the Mason County line with land donated by Ad Evers and Walter Itz. They set a June 24 board of equalization session and approved a $351.49 payment on road indebtedness. The district tax was confirmed at 50 cents per $100 value after a Palo Alto district No. 6 vote.
