Nonagenarian Mrs. Frantzen Dies. Rites Held in Fredericksburg
Emma Ku senberger Frantzen, born September 21 1857 daughter of Jacob Kusenberger and August Molzberger, died Friday at 90 years four months sixteen days in her Birthplace home on South Elk Street. Surviving children include Lina Kneese Olga Roeder Sophie Gold and Eddie Frantzen with 17 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Sunday February 8 at Schaetter Funeral Home with Rev G A Poehlmann officiating. Interment in City Cemetery.

Three Gillespie Boys Win Calves In Houston Scrambles
Three Gillespie County boys returned with calves from the Houston Fat Stock Show, Alton Oehler and Alton Ernst winning Aberdeen Angus calves from Brady breeders Tommy Brook, while M J Dittmar won a Hereford calf bred by Mrs Cain of Brady. Auction prices for Gillespie cattle ranged around 40 to 46 cents. 4 H and FFA members also sold calves lambs capons and turkeys with varied prices.

Otto Seipp, manager, said rebuilding work on Seipp Dance Hall properties is underway after the Christmas Night fire. The foundation for the refreshment stand has been poured and both structures will use hollow tile. The dance hall measures 64 by 80 feet with a maple floor and a concrete booth floor, steel roof beams, and fire proof design. completion is planned for the 1948 fall and winter season.

The Fredericksburg National Bank installs a Recordak machine to photograph checks from outside banks on microfilm for permanent records.
