A Duluth and South Shore brakeman was paid fifty cents to check a trunk with the loot, prompting a search and recovery on that line. Attempt to Break Out of Terre Haute Jail Frustrated
A dramatic jail break attempt occurred at Vigo county jail in Terre Haute Indiana. Frank Bruce the nine year prisoner and his associates Red OBryne John Henry Denver Kid led the plan. They cut a two foot square hole in a corridor door and removed hinges while a forty foot rope was fashioned from cot ropes.
