In Chicago September 8 two masked sandbaggers knocked cashier Robert H Gruschow insensible with a bludgeon in the Desplaines and Indiana street supply house counting room. They escaped with about $8,000 in bills leaving only roughly $100 in small notes. The watchman arrived after the theft and Gruschow was taken home with non dangerous head injury.
