Fresh country eggs drop to 10 cents a dozen as the lowest price in years. Butter sells at 19 cents a pound for best country roll and 10 cents for good jar butter. Hams and shoulders quoted at 10 and 7 cents respectively. Home grown potatoes 25 cents a bushel. Michigan Hoson potatoes 30 cents. Fro it Howse.
Washington March 17 President Cleveland shaken as two eminent publicists Dickinson and Pugh clash in a hand to hand scrap. They exchange blows and chairs fall as spectators watch. Both leave groggy then apologize and shake hands before surrendering to suppress the incident.
The Post reveals an ordinance granting the old monopoly four months to file a $25,000 bond and accept a franchise to switch from horse to electric cars. Rockhill signed minutes. R T McDonald faced a seven months contract and $10,000 bond amid fresh debate and confusion among opponents.
Ex Postmaster General Don M Dickinson of Michigan and Senator Pugh of Alabama fought in Chamberlains after a heated exchange. The incident, witnessed by Thurber and others, ended in a physical scuffle with both men grabbing each other, framed as a display of courage lacking in skill rather than nerve.
Indiana Governor Matthews has been confined to his home since Thursday with a severe grip and is considered very ill by his doctors though not necessarily in danger. He attended a Terre Haute horse sale ten days ago and stood in an open shed in cold weather, catching a heavy cold and later returning to work at the capitol.

Court notes include debt suits and a vagabond jailed for 11 days. Naturalization papers filed for several immigrants. Fast Mail cigars offered for five cents.
The Pennsylvania Company lowers staff in this city with 87 layoffs across the car machine shop 45 blacksmith 13 machine 6 boiler 50 paint 6 copper 5 brass 2 units. Older skilled workers are kept. Other staff return to work after brief absences and several injuries are reported including a crushed finger and a sprained hip.
The spring convocation of the Fort Wayne lodge of perfection of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite Masons began this afternoon. Grades 4 to 14 inclusive were conferred and 16 candidates were initiated. A grand banquet for visiting brethren was planned for 6 o'clock with a musical program led by F. E. Stouder.
