Reports spread of a violent disturbance at a city hotel with claims of injuries and chaos. Police say they are investigating and no official confirmation or details about suspects or exactly what happened have been released.
Residents near the Windsor hotel at 302 Calhoun street were startled by cries and a fight. Mrs Mary A Franz proprietress fell down stairs suffering injuries. Her sons Franz rushed in and out as doctors described serious conditions. Another version claims she misstepped while investigating a quarrel. Tramps flocked to the station. 54 lodged, given warnings of imprisonment. One drunk, Thomas Highland, jailed 11 days. Mary Hale granted divorce and custody with $240 alimony. Thomas Shaw, arrested for larceny, sentenced to 2 1/2 years in Ohio penitentiary after attempting an escape.
Four hundred state militia guard the Kentucky state house as a Gatling gun is aimed from the capitol steps amid fears of bloodshed as democrats outnumber troops three to one. Crowds stream in from Lexington and Louisville. residents flee near the capitol. By 3:15 PM the crisis subsides and adjournment is ordered.
The Indiana supreme court will decide within four weeks whether the Nicholson act regulating liquor traffic is constitutional. The State Association of Brewers and the State Liquor League injected $100,000 to fight it, hiring top lawyers as 10 cases are consolidated. The defense argues the act blends constitutional and unconstitutional parts, and seeks to uphold police powers and local option measures amid a decade of temperance battles.
St Patrick Day souvenir event at local stores promises visitors a souvenir with each caller tomorrow. Fresh country eggs at 11 cents a dozen and sugar cured hams at 10 cents. Also roll butter 18 cents a pound and home grown potatoes a quarter per bushel. Frourr Houser.

He leaves a wife five sons and several grandchildren, with funeral arrangements to be announced.
