Three gang suspects captured after series of robberies
Forest Park police report three suspects tied to at least 10 robberies across Oak Park Melrose Park Elmhurst and other suburbs. A female suspect and two male suspects were apprehended August 15 16 by Forest Park Elk Grove Village and state police with others still at large. Language barriers delayed interviews and charges while authorities pursue remaining suspects and filed cases locally.

Forest Park will obtain about $40 000 from the Illinois Law Enforcement Commission for September or October to upgrade its AID dispatch system. The funds fund a tri community network with Oak Park and River Forest and allow purchasing a printer, modems, a dictaphone, a 10 channel tape recorder and additional portable radios.
