Forest Park to repave Thomas avenue on four-block stretch
Village commissioners voted to repave Thomas avenue from Roosevelt road to Harrison avenue. Western Asphalt and Paving Co. bid $161,115.75, below the engineer estimate of $191,770, with funding from Motor Fuel Tax funds. Only Cathy Buckley opposed. Curb and gutter will be replaced.

Cornerstone Box Discovered in Forest Park History Effort
A copper box from the demolished building was found July 25 and opened, yielding 63 items. The contents span Forest Park life in 1915 including a government bulletin, newspapers, club by laws, calling cards, and a 1914 anti saloon campaign item. The items await study in the library vault and will be displayed at a mid October open house.

North America Savings to Open Westmont Branch Office
North America Federal Savings and Loan Assn will open a Cass Avenue Westmont branch in September, approved by the Federal Home Loan Bank board. The institute already operates on Madison Street in Forest Park and plans a second Westmont office next year, alongside Elmhurst and Bensenville areas. Groundbreaking for the Cass Avenue site is planned for spring, with initial staff of four or five workers.
