Residents and bar owner clash over disturbances in Forest Park
On July 27 residents from the 400 block areas north of Madison Street met with police and bar owner Robert Sweitzer to air complaints about late night patrons from The Ending and nearby bars. Detective Archambault noted repeated disturbances, litter, vandalism, and even disorderly behavior until 4 a.m. A two-man task force was assigned and six arrests for disorderly conduct had occurred. Sweitzer defended his venue, saying most patrons are locals and do not cause trouble, pledging to weed out undesirables and noting doormen present daily.

Thousands of defendants in Concordia cemetery move suit
State Attorney Benjamin Adamowski led a 4000 defendant case in Superior court on March 9 1956 over the government’s 8.8 acre seizure for the Eisenhower Expressway at Concordia cemetery Forest Park. Fireman Hurt in Explosion Injures Loyola Hospital Burn Unit
