Commissioner Brisch pledges to press for a referendum on the water issue if petitioners present it to the council. At the Forest Park league meeting at 7445 Madigan Street Thursday, Brisch faced criticism as others urged faster action against council spending, petition drives, and local taxation.
Proviso Township high school enacts major growth, adding a large new wing by 1924 while enrollment rises. A courtier contractor completed the facade and a pipe organ for the auditorium has been purchased and will be installed once the room is ready. The employment bureau remains to help pupils find after school and Saturday work as the school plans to accommodate more students. Maywood 68.
Floreat Park police rounded up three boys from the state school for boys at St. Charles on Tuesday morning. One boy was colored. They had boarded a Northwest freight train, walked into Forest Park, and were later captured by officers. School representatives retrieved them Tuesday afternoon. The boys said they planned to go to California or Florida but the train diverted them.
Madison Street Booster Club members met on Monday to discuss a water ordinance and a referendum. Tensions rose as officials defended the plan to build a water well, while supporters urged a vote and court action to pause the improvement until a referendum.
Tareel Simon aged 78 an inmate of the Jewish Old Peoples Home in Chicago was killed at about 10 80 o clock Thursday forenoon when struck by a bound third rail train near the Degplainea river bridge. He walked with a companion who attempted to cross ahead of the train as the locomotive could not stop in time. Motorman Prince Albert Pierce Wheaton testified at the inquest held at Blatter s undertaking parlors that he could not avert the collision. Simon had been a longtime resident of Chicago and lived at the home for several years having three children two of whom lived in Chicago.
The report describes a man named Kremo King involved in a late night incident at 8:20 PM. He was taken to a hospital after sustaining injuries and is described as having lacerations and wounds. An assault with a deadly weapon is being charged.
AWE Saunders, longtime pastor of the Forest Park Com y MW church, has served five years and led a period of growth. Despite some calls for change, church officials unanimously urged his return for another year, noting his prior supervision of Methodist institutions in Chicago and nearby areas.
Report shows daily attendance at the Model Electric Home at Forest Avenue and Thomas Street in Hiver Forest since September 15. By Sunday September 28 total visitors reached 40,046, with highlights including numerous outlets, ice axes, electric refrigerator, clothes dryer, and gas-fired heaters demonstrating high efficiency and modern convenience.

Excavations are underway to lower the basement several feet and a new electric pump will keep the basement dry. The floor will be raised twenty inches to the sidewalk level and a new front will be installed.
Forest Park delegates led by Walter W. E. Meyer attended the Dubuque convention holding key posts. Meyer was elected sergeant at arms and appointed deputies from Forest Park including Horne, Herman Mann, Otto Behmelder, Capt. George Armbrust, and Commissioner Conrad Michalaky. The group joined festivities, conferences, and a horse shoe contest, wearing green ties to signify Forest Park, and later prepared for Kiwanis Day at Deer Grove celebrating the American Indian festival in Cook County.
The Riverside Zoo project would tax the county up to 500000 annually for five years and 210000 yearly thereafter to fund the Chicago Zoological Park at Riverside under Chicago Zoological Society control. The contract was signed by Anton J. Cermak and John T. McCutcheon, with construction contingent on referendum approval in November.
