Neighborhood club opens season with pottery talk
The Neighborhood club held its season opener at the Community club house on Friday September 12 with over fifty members and guests attending. Mrs Bessie Noos presided setting 2 PM as the start time, Mrs Ethel Haeger became recording secretary, and Mrs Edith Buellesfield continued as corresponding secretary. Speaker Mrs Purdy discussed pottery origins from ancient clay to Rookwood and noted its American development led by Cincinnati women including Mrs M L Storer. The gathering featured samples, a half hour of social time, and a raffle for a cedar chest won by Fred Becker. The next meeting is planned for September 20 at 2 PM with Anna May Price speaking.

Forest Parkling Bloomers Practice At Franklin Street Corner
Forest Parking Baseball team known as the Bloomers is seen practicing near the corner of Elgin Avenue and Franklin Street. Members including Dorothy Koppemeyer Ethel Hansen Louise Dressler Louise Blasius and Ethel Trimble swing a large medicine ball high into the air while Mrs Trimble and Earl Trimble take a turn. They aim to reach a level of efficiency and likely apply to join the National League.

Forest Park Commercial Club Seeks Street and License Reforms
The Forest Park Commercial Association meets on September 13 1919 with President Jacob Behweb reading minutes. New members include Otto Refch Monument Company Feagtee Hardware Company Kentree & Meyer Cart Richter and others as the group discusses taxis licensing merchants taxes and sidewalk widening on Madison Street and Roosevelt Road. The club backs library donations and village legal reviews while planning for a Maywood district homecoming and a final vote to adjourn.

Ladies Carry Goodies to Fort Sheridan Hero
Mrs Witlam Terrell and others visited Fort Sheridan last Friday afternoon and called on John Matineliun. They brought 200 packages of cigarettes, 24 packages of gum, bankets of fruit and 8 glasses of home mate jelly to wards 63 and 43. Oscar Chillods, a young friend of Therretx, was visited.
