Proviso Township high school, the Maywood Chamber of Commerce, and city officials plan a 6 30 p m dinner rally in Proviso cafeteria on December 6 inviting residents to back a Miller Meadow site for a University of Illinois branch. Governor Stratton and state leaders are expected to attend with Park Livingston named on the university committee. Tickets at local elementary schools as supply lasts.

License Sticker Sale Set for December 1 in Village
Village Clerk Charles Meseke announced license stickers go on sale Saturday December 1. They will be sold at the village clerk office the Joe Reichmann Agency and the Currency Exchange with reduced fees for 35 horsepower or less four dollars and over 35 horsepower eight dollars a year down from five and ten dollars.

County clerk released general election figures for the 4th District. Incumbent Republican Walter Ream led with 71 698 votes, Claude Walker followed with 62 906, while Democrat Raymond Welsh won 27 650 to beat Edward B. O'Shea by 951 votes. The three winners will be sworn in at the State Capitol on January 9.

Truck Driver Reports Theft of Cigarets
John Fitzgerald of Chicago, a driver for J. F. Hambas and Co., reported Nov 21 that a man assaulted him and stole cigarets from his delivery truck in an alley with an accomplice possibly involved. Police were notified after the theft.
