Two men arrested in Franklin bookie raid

Bruce B Benson Burned Thursday Funeral Rites Held
Bruce B. Benson of 142 S 1 2nd avenue Maywood died Sunday March 14 and funeral services were held Thursday March 14 at Senne chapel in Maywood. He long served as superintendent of recreation for the forest preserve district beginning in 1915 and was its second oldest employee. He was a former Republican committeeman for Proviso township. He is survived by his widow Hazel and a son Joseph. Rema Bartsch of 7653 Monroe sustained a broken [illegible] when she fell on the ice March 4.

Petty burglars strike multiple Tri villages
Forest Park Oak Park and River Forest police report a spree of petty burglaries in recent weeks. On March 15 thieves forced open a door at the Kinois Sports Service restaurant and looted the restaurant safe for 844 dollars while Parichy’s safe held. Earlier attempts occurred at two gas stations and at stations at Jackson Harlem and Harlem Harvard with glass breakage but no theft. Tri-villages police are collaborating to catch the suspects.
