George Olson, newly elected president of Forest Park Chamber of Commerce, urged directors to revive a local blood bank. He cited wartime needs and past Forest Park testing efforts, proposing 200 volunteers be tested and a typed list kept to provide quick matching for patients. The board suggested a local civic group take the objective for action.
Campagna, a Forest Park resident, died suddenly March 1 at home after a heart attack. Born in Chicago in 1908, he lived on Lathrop Avenue for over 40 years, married Catherine Russ, and worked 23 years for the Chicago Transit Authority. Survived by wife, two sons, a daughter, parents, a brother, and four sisters. Services held March 10 at St. Bernardine Church. interment Mount Carmel cemetery.
Forest Parler office announced by postmaster Arthur I. Schuler that applications for substitute clerks and carriers are being accepted. Extra help is needed for the vacation and upcoming rush seasons.

He studied at the Art Institute with Gianni Cissone and has a commission for Concord Products in Chicago. He works at 140 N LaSalle and maintains a private studio at 33 Flynn. He is married with four children Joyce Gevai Natalie Laurena and Lita.
Lions Club of Forest Gardens invites members to a March meeting at Forest Gardens Rand where Arrow Petroleum Co speaker Paul Bippensivet will discuss petroleum resources. A colored film will illustrate production phases.
Bishop T Megan, long stationed in China, visited the Gertrude Mission Club in a March 1 luncheon at Mrs Louis Oswalds home. Club members have aided his mission for 15 years, with the first letter received in 1933. After the luncheon he traveled to Eldora to visit his elderly mother.
St. John's wins the senior division trophy while Printers' Devils claim the Sunmive B division trophy after top finishes in the season. Junior A finals are yet to be played, with two weeks remaining in the league schedule.
A person identified as Edward Ayurs, 126 Lathrop, was taken to Loretto hospital after an injury at Fair Edward Ayurs venue. He suffered chest pain and possible internal injuries when he slipped.
Thieves blew open the Terminal tavern safe at 720 Des phines after midnight Monday March 8 and escaped with 1500 in cash and checks. Police say expert safe crackers used nitroglycerine and tear gas bombs. a rear door breach aided the entry. The owner Gus Theodosakis reported normal closing and this marks a second burglary in two years following a 1946 incident.
The county board authorized paving of Madison street from 25th Avenue to Harlem Avenue in Maywood River Forest and Forest Park Proviso township. About 16 035 feet will use bituminous binder and surface, costing 180 000 from motor tax funds. An accident report noted a man fell on the icy pavement while backing his car.
