Sidewalk repair bids opened by village council

Village commissioners opened five bids for sidewalk repair this summer with bids ranging from 75 to 95 cents per square foot and 2 to 5 dollars per linear foot. The village will cover half the cost while property owners pay the other half.

Forest Park to vote on $150000 hall expansion bond

Forest Park residents will vote Tuesday, April 2, on borrowing $150,000 to add to the present village hall. The council approved the ordinance to fund police, jail, records storage, and offices plus fire department rooms and clerk’s office expansion. Polls open 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Salaries of Local Teachers Face Budget Review

A joint Forest Park school board and PTA executive committee meeting last Friday discussed teachers pay. A five member committee is comparing local salaries with nearby villages and will report soon. Supt. Robert Pruitt outlined the educational fund and said an extra 18000 would raise salaries to par, about 6 dollars per 200 tax bill.
