Proviso Township High School Hosts NEA Banquet 100th Anniversary

Friends of education in Proviso township plan a large NEA centennial banquet at Proviso Township High School in Maywood. Tickets available through Ruth Behr as organizer with a program slated for 6 30 p m featuring a wide range of educators from the area.

Grade School Fair Help Sought by PTA in May

Field-Stevenson PTA announced at a March 12 meeting in the school cafeteria that help is needed to stage the May Grade School Fair. Principal Wayne Craney said children will have their pictures taken in April and notices will be sent home. Lt Cmdr Butterfield of the Naval Ordnance plant entertained with color slides during his visit. The best attendance prize went to Miss Lois Henderson's fourth grade, who also helped with refreshments.

Girl Scouts Plan April 9 Gym Show For Children

The group will meet April 9 in the gymnasium where a candy show will entertain. Children are invited.

Apron Lady Mrs Tempie Spurling Hospitalized After Fall

Mrs Tempie Spurling 81 of 1020 Dunlop known as the Apron Lady is confined to West Suburban hospital after a fall at her home last Friday. She suffered a fractured rib and would enjoy hearing from friends.

Nan MacGregor daughter of John and who lives at 7704 Adams serves as recording secretary on Town State college Military Ball committee in Ames Ta. She is a sophomore studying home economics education.

Penny Social Set At Veterans Hall

The Forest Park VFW post and its auxiliary host an annual penny social and fun night at the new Post home 424 Des Plaines on Friday March 22. Doors open seven p.m. The first 100 attendees will receive surprise gift bags. The public is invited to enjoy games refreshments.

Forest Parkers Active In LaGrange Speedway

Franklin Wolfgram of 448 Beloit affiliated with Mance Park Speedway La Grange as scout for new driving talent. Bob Geissler of 428 Hannah named track photographer. Mance Speedway, a fifth mile banked asphalt track, opens Sunday March 24 with time trials at 1 30 p.m. and first race at 2 30 p.m.

Mothers Club Meets At Goodman Home

The Mothers Club of the boys of the 192nd Tank Battalion met at the home of Mrs. Lionel Goodman March 14. The club organized while the boys were ponopers of Japan from 1942 to 1945. Present were Mrs. William Ver tuno, Mrs. James Bainbridge, Mrs. Oscar Heilig, Mrs. Leo Jerle, Mrs. Scott Craig, Mrs. Adam Deckert, Mrs. Ben Morin, and Mrs. Lionel Goodman.

Garden Club Displays Arrangements at Living Exposition

The Garden Club of Forest Park presents "Suburban Dandies" and "Easter Splendor" featuring a candelabra at the Modern Living Exposition March 23 31 at Navy Pier. Mrs. E Sterr chairs. Mrs. Charles Broeh is club president.

Plan Fun Fair Set by PTA for May 3

Field Stevenson Parent- Teachers' Association completed plans this week for its major fund-raising project of the year. Scheduled for May 3 the Fun Fair is expected to draw more than 800 local residents. PTA President Ray Rahn said prizes entertainment refreshments and surprises will highlight the affair. Proceeds will fund the association's annual budget.
