Forest Park Post readies Fourth of July sales at three stands Madison and Jackson, Harrison and Desplaines, Harlem between Roosevelt and 13th. They promote safe sales to children and offer a wide range of items. A large fireworks display is planned July 5 at the new Harrison Street park with the Boys and Girls Band performing before dusk.

Hurleys to Celebrate Their Silver Wedding Jubilee

Mr and Mrs Thomas Hurley Jr of L122 Thomas Avenue will celebrate their silver wedding anniversary with a jubilee at St Bernardine's church on Saturday June 26 at 3 o'clock. Tax Bills In Mail This Week Office Open Here

The general real estate and personal property tax bill will be mailed this week. The Maywood office at 4th Madison Street will be open daily from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. to help taxpayers avoid penalties. The August 1, 1937 deadline carries a 1 1/2 percent per month penalty thereafter. Local banks Bellwood State Bank Nellwood and LaGrange State Trust will collect taxes.
