Fathers Day Service Planned at St Peters Church

St Peters Montgeheal Lutheran church schedules a special Father s Day service for Sunday June 20 with dedications of church gifts including a baptism font a missal stand altar vases and a new Bible. Gifts donated by Mrs Beck Mrs Hack and Mrs Kroeger will be blessed during the service. A church and Sunday school outing is set for June 27 to Grove No 3 Forest Preserves Mannheim Road and 22nd Street with German and English services beforehand.

Forest Park to open four playgrounds with field day and dance

Forest Park prepares to open its four playgrounds next Monday with 9:30 a.m. registration and events on the west field of the new park including field activities for all ages. Kiwanis volunteers Lloyd Lehman and Charles Meseke lead plans with the recreation board, followed by a street dance on the Water Works park tennis courts from 8 to 11:30 p.m. Adults join the celebration with swing bands and barn dances, while directors oversee each site and improvements include aluminum siding and fresh paint.
