Forest Park village council approved a postmaster Yunker's ordinance prohibiting placing handbills pamphlets circulars or advertisements in mail receptacles or on streets porches yards and public places within the village. The measure declares such distribution a nuisance except for certain receptacle deposits and outlines penalties and exceptions for circulation within designated holders.
The cornerstone of the new First Reformed church at Elgin avenue and Harvard street was laid Sunday afternoon at 3 o clock by Rev F Kalbfleisch. The event drew a large crowd, with hymns sung by Forest Park boys, addresses by local clergy, and $180 in offerings plus subscriptions for the building. Attorney E H Luebeck filmed the scene. The alley from Elgin Avenue to Harlem behind the Andrews property is being paved. Andrews Realty Co had delayed paving after north alleys were done, planning a northward relocation for a theater project that never happened. The current paving includes the south fifty feet of the alley in the block.

The Proviso Township High School annual debuted during class day on Tuesday in June. Pearl Roos, editor-in-chief, presented the first copy to Will C. Robb, principal, and the dedicatee R. Lee Usburd, music director, with a strong, illustrated edition titled Proviso Blue and Proviso Yellow. The eight page India tint insert features forest preserve scenes and a descriptive poem, with unique design elements and many cartoons by Florence Otis. The book includes faculty and student photos, interviews, poems, editorials, and features, reflecting credit on Miss Otis and the staff. Regal Press of Oak Park printed the volume.
The annual picnic for St Bernardines girls from the school will be at Altenheim Grove on Tuesday June 19. A parade led by a 30 piece band will start from Elgin Avenue and Harrison Street with village officials and police, followed by flags, lemonade, prizes, games, and a dinner option. Evening dancing with a fine orchestra caps the day, promising a memorable outing for all attendees.
