Forest Park Chamber of Commerce will hold its installation dinner at Otto's restaurant 7212 Washington Boulevard next Thursday January 12. The prominent speaker from the U S Treasury Chicago office will discuss counterfeit money and enforcement by the G men, promising one of the finest events of its kind.
Wilbert Haase of American Vault Works will be installing officer as Forest Park Chamber of Commerce outlines new officers. Ernest Reich chairs the outgoing term while Lane Edward B. Tane leads Merchants Division. Elsie Tonkin becomes Triest Park’s first woman officer alongside Rey Berliner and other directors.
Henry F Lange born in Harlem village died December 21 1938 at age 67. He was a carpenter and married 42 years to Louise Wiegeman of Forest Park. Survived by wife two daughters two sisters a brother and four grandchildren. Funeral at St John’s church with interment at Concordia Cemetery.
Mrs Rotterman of 7535 Jackson Boulevard won the Hut door Lighted Christoyisee contest sponsored by the Playground and Recreation board with Buble Service company. Mrs Herman’s tree featured blue lights against a snowy backdrop and Mrs Frank Tukalli of Marenge avenue won the display contest with multiple trees in her rock garden. The Recreation board thanks residents of First Park for cooperative holiday customs.
The Minutemen held a Venison Dinner for 150 members and friends with 30 card tables and a busy food line at 10 pm. Prizes included a Gruen wrist watch won by Sam De Verdi, a candid camera to Walter Lange, and a pipe to Milt Heegu. Commander Reich sent telegram from Miami and Carl Mohr’s committee received thanks.
Anna McGurn died December 29 at 7401 Roosevelt Road from a heart attack. She was married to Tate Womhan McGurn, a longtime Verest Park business figure who preceded her by seven months. She leaves brothers Jack and William Redman. Funeral services were held at St Bernardine's Church with Mass officiated by Rev Fr Wilhe and assisted by deacons Rev Fr Worchacht and Rev Fr Wagener.
The Better Government club of Forest Park explains registration requirements for the February 28, 1939 village election. Details cover permanent registration, deadlines, moving addresses, registration hours, and a special Friday evening session at Forest Park Village Hall to accommodate voters.
Rudolph Keop aged 63 died Tuesday December 27 at St Anthony's hospital. He worked for Jacob Schueta tavern owner of 7206 Circle Avenue where he lived. Funeral from Madsen's Undertaking Parlors to Concurting Cemetery Friday afternoon. Ruddy as he was known was a devoted Cubs and Sox fan attending games for six years. Large funeral attendance with friends and relatives.

The Altar and Rosary Society holds a ceremony next Tuesday January WW at St Bernardines Church to install newly elected officers for 14a. A 2:30 devotion precedes the installation and a luncheon with cards and raffles to follow. Chairman Mrs Troest promises an enjoyable evening and lists new officers and board members.
Bertram B. Donahue of Post 414 died suddenly on January 2 while employed by a towman Dairy Co. Funeral services were held at Zimmerman's chapel with Rev Loeppert officiating. The Pleasant Lodge No 478 A F and AM and the Rust squad attended. Interment was at Mt Emblem cemetery with Honor Guard firing squad. Donahue was active in Boy Scout work in the Oak Park area. Stephen Mirro of Forest Park sounded taps and Herman Schulz voiced the echo. Deep sympathy to his family.
Mrs. Dick Lee of New York visits her cousin Mrs. Arthur Chausse as her husband stars in Tobago Road now in its sixth Broadway season. Her daughter appears in Geo Colian's Id Rather Me Right.
Engaged Mr and Mrs Edw Treabess announce the engagement of their daughter Virginia to Stanley Barilla of Maywood. No wedding date has been set.
St Johns Lutheran offers a month long free lecture course on fundamental Bible teachings at 8 PM in the school building on Circle Avenue. The program invites all adults to enroll, with discussions on topics like the Bible as God’s Word and immortality, no exams, and eligibility for membership after completion.
The Ladies Auxiliary to Forest Park Aerie No. 1344 held its December 22 meeting with a Christmas party. Santa Claus gave gifts, members received chrome relish dishes, and refreshments were enjoyed. Next meeting is January 12, 1939 and a card and domino party is planned for January 20 at Grant-White gym.
Mrs Paul Bracato of 905 Thomas Avenue announces the engagement of her daughter Lucille Pauline Weels to John Lenaine Casey of 330 Washington Boulevard Oak Park. The wedding is set for February 14.
