Raymond H. Warnecke was installed as Kiwanis president of Forest Park's club at Bruns Palm Garden Tuesday evening. The ceremony featured Lt Governor Bob Teeter and Past-Governor Richard Blawse, with new officers including Claude Walker and Emil Rochike. A gala program followed with remarks by Warnecke and an entertaining address by Dick Howne.

Forest Park Band Plans January 27 Concert
The Forest Park Grade School band of District 91 conducted by Samuel A Mages will present its first concert of the new year at 6 00 Friday evening January 27 in the Curtis Auditorium Forest Park Beloit avenue Curtis Auditorium hosts the Fifth to Seventh graders with the Field Stevenson chorus directed by Miss Allee Ransom assisting. Featured will be soloists and ensembles including a clarinet quartet Hedstrom Laske Reichel Krieg and a cornet quartet Skardi Kramer Boorman Jorgenson. Soloists include John Paul trombonist Robert Marsde flutist Ted Hedstrom William Reichel and Frank Quarato clarinetists Donald Schuman June Price and Howard Willett saxophonists. The concert closes with combined performances by the concert and training bands the latter comprising twenty four players from grades four and five started in October 1938.

Proviso Band Members Attend University Clinic
Twenty five Proviso high school band and orchestra members joined by Wallaee Nelson and J Irving Tallmadge attended the National band orchestra and voice clinic at the University of Illinois last weekend January 4 to 7. Noted directors Marold Johnson Merle Isaac and Glenn Cliffe Bainum led sessions as high school representatives from many states. Proviso sent twelve orchestra players and thirteen band members with Mr Nelson and Mr Tallmadge earning directorial roles. The event featured a choral technique demonstration by Springfield High School acapella choir on Saturday January 8.
