Doughnut Day Taggers Help Salvation Army Drive
Doughnut Day taggers in Forest Park raised funds for The Salvation Army on June 14. The drive, led by Mrs. Edward Lusthoff and other volunteers, aimed at $600 and contributed $157 506.21 across Chicago and 150 suburban communities spreading through several Illinois counties and Lake County Indiana. The Salvation Army served more than 100 thousand people with meals, lodging, camps, rehabilitation, or child care as part of its year round programs.

Ramona Hefner Wins Forest Park TV Set Prize
The August Prize of the Month promotion by Forest Park Chamber of Commerce awarded a Crosley TV set to Ramona Hefner of 525 Marengo Avenue. Other prizes went to Emil Evenson for the twin blade window, O. Cigoi for a portable radio, and Mrs. Ralph Scheff for a coffeemaker. No August contest is planned. September plans are under discussion.

Cars Needed for 63rd Orphans Automobile Day Picnic
Residents from German Old People's Home Forest Park Altenheim and Villa Scalabrini Northlake are invited as guests of the Orphans Automobile Day Association for the 63rd Annual Picnic at Lincoln Park on Wednesday August 21. Nearly 5 000 elderly and disabled Chicago area residents are served with box lunches ice cream and entertainment. about 150 guests from the two homes will attend. automobiles are needed to transport them to and from Lincoln Park.
