Last Forest Park landmark to be torn down for Congress St. highway
The last Forest Park landmark in the Congress Street Highway corridor will be razed after Monday. Gus Theodasakis, owner of the former Building at Desplaines and the L tracks, says he received an order from Look County highway department to vacate by August 2. The 59 year family business traced to James and Marie Theodasakis operated ice cream parlor, candy store, tavern, liquor store and laundry in the same location, later hosting a glue factory. The family, except Gus, has died. he vows, as General MacArthur said, he will be back.

C of C to Make Awards at Reichmann Office
The Chamber of Commerce will hold a public drawing for its Prize of the Month tonight in front of Joe Reichmann's real estate office at 7227 Roosevelt Road at about 3 30 p m. Winners need not be present but the excitement of being on hand for the announcement and the chance to talk with neighbors adds to the value. The prizes include a TV set a portable window fan a portable radio with batteries and a 10 cup coffeemaker for homemakers.

Mayor Egan Pays 16 Fine Without Vituperation

Dogs Bite Three Local Residents This Week
Three local residents were bitten by dogs this week. Michael Schwertfeger, 8, was bitten on the right shoulder while retrieving a ball from a neighbor’s yard. Katherine Bartels, 88, was bitten on the palm after twisting a neighbor’s dog’s nose, and Cathy Frescott, 5, was bitten below the left eye while petting a dog at a friend’s home and treated by Dr. M. Piatt.
