In Cool Springs Township rural citizens joined the Kiwanis Club for Farmers Night to celebrate cooperation between country and town. Remarks by J W Dalton and Dr A C Duncan welcomed guests, while President Howard Doggett praised mutual progress and cited Dallas growth as due to a strong countryside. Prof D H Sutton introduced plans for talks to follow and Mrs J S Morgan highlighted curb market gains, noting sales from $25 to $350 and continued local spending. Funeral Friday for Mrs L D Wilkie in Oak Grove
Funeral services were held at Oak Grove Methodist Church for Mrs. L. D. Wilkie formerly Jorn Louise Randall who died suddenly at 8 p m. She had joined Oak Grove as a girl and later New Hope near Chesnee. Survivors include husband L D Wilkie a daughter Belle and son W P Wilkie four grandchildren and three brothers.

George D Trogden Dies in Georgia
Approximately 5000 attended the funeral of George D. Trogden, 56, general manager and treasurer of Trogden Furniture Co. in Georgia. Services were held Tuesday at 2:30 from Methodist Church, interment in Toccoa. Survived by widow Margaret Clay Trogden, son Ray, daughter Mrs. C. F. Jones, one brother, two sisters, and brother-in-law W. M. Clay. Native of Ramsour, N C, he had led furniture ventures across the South after starting as a salesman.
