Man dies after fall from moving truck near Forest City
P Hendley of Pacolet aged 75 died in hospital Monday at 11 30 after a fall from a transfer truck en route to Forest City. The incident occurred Sunday as the truck left Cliffside from South Carolina. Hendley, who was riding with Tom Nix while en route to visit relatives, fell while the vehicle moved. he was taken to Forest City hospital where he died after doctors treated him. The deceased is survived by four children and was connected with a Pacolet mill. Funeral services were held Tuesday at Clifton Methodist Church with Chief of Police and local officials noting the death.

Student Hurt When Hit by Car Near Cool Springs High
Sixteen year old Lee Moss Reinhardt senior at Cool Springs high school was seriously injured Thursday afternoon after being struck by a car driven by Walter McCurry of Hazelhurst farm near Cliffside. The accident occurred in front of the school as classes ended. Reinhardt suffered a fractured skull and was rushed to Rutherford Hospital where doctors initially described his condition as serious but improving with regained consciousness.

Mrs Laura Jones aged 68 widow of R W Jones of Savannah Georgia died at her home after about two years illness. She was born Laura Lee in Forest City and had many relatives nearby.
