Democratic conventions set for June in Rutherfordton and Raleigh
The county Democratic convention will meet in Rutherfordton on Saturday June 28 with precinct meetings on June 21. The North Carolina state convention will be held in Raleigh on July 3. Farm Women To Meet At State Convention
North Carolina farm women will take part in Farm and Home week at State College from July 29 to August 1. The sixth annual short course, the State Federation of Home Demonstration Clubs meeting, and honors for five Master Farm Home makers are planned with Dr. Clarence Poe as speaker. Over 1,000 attendees expected. 935 women registered last year. Certificates for four short courses will be awarded on honor day August 1.

Mrs Mary Keeter of near Gilkey Dead
Mrs Mary Keeter wife of Bud Keeter of near Gilkey died Tuesday after an extended illness. She was about 68 and buried at Mt Creek Baptist church with Rev J A Brendell and others officiating. Survived by her husband, she was the last of her family. Also included: testimony that Mrs Anna Seller of Newark had permanent damages from an automobile accident awarded $4000 from Howard Burch.
