Record Vote Cast In Rutherford County Primary
Rutherford County held its first Democratic primary with about 11 hundred ballots cast in a quiet election. George H Blanton led the county commissioner race with 2339 votes while 5087 voters chose clerk of the court and 5187 chose sheriff. A total of 113 voted for U S senator and 5080 for solicitor, with strong interest in the state ticket. The county saw orderly results as vote totals came in from precincts and a public display board tracked returns.

Missionary Society Day Moves To Tuesday At Country Club
The Methodist Missionary Society changes its planned day at the Country Club Jr to Tuesday. Proceeds from golf activities will benefit the Missionary society.
