A Saturday fire caused about 2000 dollars in damage to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Guy Hill on the roadway and an adjacent garage. The blaze also damaged another dwelling on the opposite side. Fire trucks worked but could not prevent the house owned by D. Horn from burning. a Bible found nearby was slightly scorched but intact, possibly protected by wet furniture and water from the engines.

Mrs. C. C. Bridges died at age 71 near here after extended illness. Funeral services were at Mt. past church with Rev. J. A. Brendel officiating. Survived by husband five sons Coran Meriwether Gul es Carl Ralph and three daughters O Bowen Maude Rose and Mrs. Bridges also, one brother and several sisters. She was a Baptist and well respected in the community.

State Patrolman Warns Motorists
State patrolman K. B. Mann made one arrest Sunday night for drunkenness. He also arrested a automobile driver for improper lights and another for improper license on a truck. Atlanta Officers Seek Escaped Convicts in Ellenboro Stolen Car
City detective Sam Smith and officer Marshall J. Price of Atlanta police arrived here to escort Henry and Reuben Dutton and Ralph Brown, captured after a stolen auto near Ellenboro.
