Checks totaling 11412.50 were sent to Rutherfordton for distribution to War Between the States veterans and their widows. One hundred three individuals will draw their annual pensions this week, including 45 checks of 182.50 to veterans, 55 checks of 50.00 to widows, and 3 checks of 150.00 to widows. Some will not be distributed due to deaths since June. Pensioners may collect at the clerk of court office in Rutherfordton.
