Local Legion Post to Use 60 Flags for Floresville Fourth
Floresville plans a large Fourth of July celebration at Wilson County Fair Grounds with a 10 am parade of ex servicemen from Confederates to doughboys. Over sixty large American flags purchased by local merchants will be used as permanent decorations. A noon barbecue, speeches by Texas Legion leaders, junk car races, pony and donkey races, a Karnes City post baseball game, and an old style night dance are scheduled. Admission is fifty cents for adults and twenty five cents for children. other events are free. Local ex servicemen urged to join, with Alex Lieberman as adjutant and a committee list of officers handling day, entertainment, publicity, races, and decorations.

Candidates will be certified and run-off primary matters, with other business to dispose of. DeWitt Murray, Co Chairman. The Floresville Masonic Lodge listed officers and the Floresville Chamber of Commerce held a meeting on Tuesday night focusing on Wilson County’s organization under the Texas Cotton Co-Operative Association with discussions by San Antonio figures. Two attendance prizes were awarded to Louis Cordes.

Boy Scout Court of Honor Held
The Court of Honor for the Boy Scouts of America was held in the Floresville high school auditorium on Thursday evening June 5 at 8 30 o clock. Ninety Scouts attended along with about twenty five parents and friends from Path Stockdale and Floresville. Four boys were deemed ready for First Class Scouts and one for Second Class. Forty one boys were tested for merit badges and all found guilty. The note encourages continued effort in merit badge work and advancement and invites more Hagile Scouts.
