Flora M Williams of Galveston sues for divorce from John O Williams. She seeks 4000 alimony, custody of seven children with 100 yearly for each, and restoration of her maiden name Flora Kepner. She cites cruel conduct and neglect to provide, married November 6 1880, separated March 8 1900, illness and denial of medicine. The case combines with a habeas corpus dispute over a daughter, unresolved after service failures.

Sunday School Convention at Hopewell Presby terian church

The semi annual convention of the Third District Sunday Schools of Carroll county will be held at Hopewell Presbyterian church on Thursday April 13 an all day session with an excellent program. District covers Carrollton Democrat Burlington and Monroe townships all invited. A daughter was born to Mr and Mrs Orla Shaffer in North Dakota awaiting relatives.

Harvest of Death and Local Obituaries in Adams Township

Mrs Florence McManus died at her Adams township home about 3 30 Monday morning after ten days with inflammatory rheumatism affecting the heart. She was Ed Beard’s daughter of Clay township and married to Jacob McManus about six years ago leaving a husband and three children. Mr McManus once published the Delphi Times. Mrs Lizzie Cripe Wingard died suddenly of heart failure last Friday near Owasco aged 30, daughter of Jacob Cripe. funeral was held at Owasco Monday at 10. Mrs C Amos Welker died at her Adams township home Saturday morning aged years, daughter of Ephraim Fry. funeral Sunday from Cedarville church with interment in the local cemetery.

Wabash Appeals Over Crossings Watchmen Request

The Wabash railway appealed in circuit court a county commissioners order granting residents of Clymers a petition to establish watchmen at two railway crossings. The company claims no notice of the petition, asks reconsideration and right to appear, and asserts the measure imposes at least 850 dollars a month in costs. A bond of 100 dollars was filed to insure good faith.

Carroll County Old Fiddlers Contest at Frankfort

Carroll county fiddlers dominated the Frankfort contest with about fifty contestants split into two age classes. Eli Walker of Lex won second in the over fifty group and Clark Pearson of Flora won second in the under fifty group. They also won first money as the top duo. The oldest participant was 82 and the youngest 10. A Flora fundraiser concert is set for Thursday April 6 under the band’s auspices with many merchants contributing prizes.
