Old Man Killed Instantly by Falling Log at Camden Saw Mill

Epham Smith, a well known Rockfield resident, was killed instantly by a falling log in the yards of Wyatt saw mill at Camden on Tuesday morning. No eye witnesses. inquest found broken ribs and spinal damage caused death. Survived by wife and several children. body taken to Rockfield for funeral services.

Squabble Over Camden Road Engineer Fee Heads to Court

Mt Pleasant school party honors pupils and teacher

Last Friday at Mt Pleasant west of town Louis Mayne presided over the end of term with about thirty attendees. They celebrated Faye Allen’s thirteenth birthday with visuals, a candying match won by Elsie Allen, and a spelling contest won by Margaret Kneath. The six pupils are Faye and Elsie Allen, Marshall and Earl Lieber, Faye Luse, and Edith Richter.
