Shearer and others boosted fire protection with a $10,000 bond and new main lines, while keeping costs low. A sewer system was delayed, and extra taxes arose amid burdensome expenses. The spring cleanup urges residents to organize an anti litter effort, prune trees, burn debris, and improve homes.
