SRT captured second place in the south central Matridt championship at Albion amid a strong tournament run. Filer, listed as a contender, was edged by Albion in the final day as Burley defeated Rupert and Albion surpassed Filer. Congress OKs Cash For Dam At American Falls Idaho

A House accepted a senate amendment to the interior department bill authorizing 648000 for work on the American Falls reservoir in Idaho for the new fiscal year. Expenditure hinges on vesting title to certain Indian lands in the United States and water users repaying about 1,000,000 in dues while depositing roughly 1,500,000 to cover future assessments.

School Directors Hire Faculty for Next Term

Rural high school superintendent George Be Denman and the current faculty were re employed for another year at the district board meeting. Eight of nine teaching positions were filled by four existing staff and four new teachers Warren Nurman was recently named superintendent and the eighth grade instructor is to be chosen. Denman will begin his third year as head of the institution and was the board's unanimous pick for the coming term. The remaining faculty listed includes K Byrne James Tomlin George N Packer Mrs W D Gillis Mr Georgia Andrews Snyder Miss Ruth Bever. The treasurer Guy H Shearer presented his report and the tax levy was discussed.

Village Board Approves New Gas Station on Main Street

Twin Falls official Asher B. Wilson told the village trustees that a Home OS gas station may be built at the northeast end of Main Street where it meets the state highway. Four lots north of the street have been bought from C. C. Stevens for the project. The permit was granted. The board also urged property owners to clean up town lots in line with a recently adopted ordinance and scheduled a hearing on sprinkling district improvements for April 1. Arthur B. Debulten was appointed as peace officer for the precinct.
