New warehouse to be built on U S L tractage
Excavation began Friday on a 50 by 75 foot basement forming part of a storage and recleaning warehouse for O J Childs Seed Company. The one story galvanized iron building will sit on the U S L right of way at Adel avenue base near Boyle commission site. Construction by Higginbotham Ellis. John Deklotz excavating. Estimated cost 6000 dollars. Mr Childs, who entered the grain and seed business last year after resigning as local manager of Farmers Grain and Milling, plans to handle fall beans and seeds from an extensive Filer country contract area.

Contracts signed to build American Falls dam in Idaho
A Washington dispatch reports Secretary Work signed contracts with the American Falls irrigation district and Idaho Power to proceed with the American Falls dam across the Snake River at an estimated cost of 15.9 to 16 million dollars. The Power Co will surrender plants and land for the project, funds allow bond sales for districts, and preliminaries begin with rights of way and town relocation. Final dam height and reservoir capacity are undecided awaiting congressional authority and funding. Construction cannot start until next spring due to funding gaps.

Mexican Faces Murder Charge At Twin Falls
Complaint sworn by Police Chief Herriman charges Romulo Lanos with first degree murder for the death of Andres Ortega after an evening dispute over a woman. Ortega died Tuesday morning at the county general hospital after being shot Sunday evening. Lanos was captured after a brief chase and reportedly admitted the shooting.

Protest Against Wells-Railway Plan Filed by Ahern
E J Ahern an engineer and head of the Idaho Nevada California company files objections with the Interstate Commerce Commission to granting a certificate of convenience for the Oregon Short Line to build Rogerson to Wells. He cites prior affidavits from July 2 1922 and plans to sue Idaho Central alleging detrimental effects if its certificate is cancelled. Charles A Krohn a 49 year old Idaho rancher died after a runaway wagon struck him while he tried to stop the team to save driver Earle Shettel two miles south of Filer. He was a Sweden born farmer of Twin Falls Lodge Knights of Pythias member. Survived by widow Ronald son stepchildren and several siblings. Funeral held at Church of the Brethren Twin Falls with Pallbearers named.

At the annual session in Blackfoot last week Mrs Nell Irion of Sandpoint was named grand matron, succeeding retiring matron Mrs Ana Jane Haley. James Delaney of Coeur d Alene elected grand patron. Sessions opened at American Legion hall with a Monday reception and closed Friday with a city drive and picnic at tourist park.
