Blackburn murder case set for full term of court

Melvin Blackburn bound over to the September term on a first degree murder charge in the death of his wife Cecil Hurst Blackburn. Preliminary hearing last week led to a decision by Probate Judge P Duvall to proceed, with defense arguing for a lesser charge. North street residents opposed it while the south side favored creation. With two members absent, final action was deferred to an adjourned meeting next Monday evening.
