Thieves stole harness shop goods valued at 160 dollars from J. L. Burkett harness shop on East Main street. Sheriff’s deputies and Marshall Alles investigated Tuesday, with definite clues but no arrests, after entry via a rear window and broken screen.
Workmen under R L Wallace of Phelps Construction leave for Eiko Nevada to build 20 miles of graveled road. Party of 16 with 50 head of stock and 22 horses. Two carloads of machinery ship from here, one stored at the old alfalfa mill, others from Spanish Fork Utah. A special meeting of Filer post American Legion is set for tonight at the Odd Fellows Hall to boost local membership. The event features a standardized Legion ritual and a call for current members to invite nonmembers, aiming to recruit the remaining ex-service men in the community.
Dennis Slattery a well known rancher living west of town bore a left hand and sling after a colt kicked him on the back Friday evening as he came in from the field. X ray showed several broken bones from the encounter.
Reported counterfeited identity led residents to greet FW Schwamb of Blue Island as the Democratic presidential aspirant William G. McAdoo. Decent prospects remain for most fruits though the canyon peach crop was ruined by the winter freeze and some trees girdling. Cherry picking starts next week in the canyon with fall swing.

Twin Falls Junior Swine Breeders association hosts a Tuesday trip to inspect pure bred swine herds on the Twin Falls tract. The itinerary includes demonstrations in trimming pig hooves and swine judging, with visits to top siren and dam stock in the Northwest. Departure from the Twin Falls courthouse at 9:00 a.m. June 20, a 60 mile county circuit, with stops at Renton Swine Breeders herds and Davis ranch for noon ice cream and lemonade.

In Twin Falls county a new third party adopting a Progressive style forms, planning to contest county and state races this fall. Frank W. Woodruff named chairman with J. H. Kinsey as secretary after a Labor hall meeting of about 30 attendees led by O. C Hall. George L. West discussed organizing, with a platform drafted February 7 at Nampa calling for efficiency, state profits tax relief, tax shifts from homes and farm improvements, banking reforms, liquor enforcement, public control of coal oil natural gas minerals and vast power, financed through taxation and state issuance of currency.

Dr W H Dwight, the top vote-getter among two rivals and sole Citizen's Ticket member, urged supporters to vote for the opponent as he declines further campaigning.

The World War Commission company sold 82 lambs from Filer McKay and Mc Dessid of Filer Mak on Thursday at Omaha yards. The average weight was 71 pounds with an average price of 14.50. A few lambs brought 14.60, the top market price. McKay said the shipment was an unpicked entire band and expressed optimism for the sheep industry as feed costs ease and prices improve.
Deaths noted include John Madison of De Mmet Bo Dek, previously Ada Cook Cramer, with two children Claire and Merceda. Brother of the late Mrs W A Randolph, Mr Cramer, known as Bhorty, lived in Clover district and Grassy Hill. Also Mrs Matiite Peesy of Weatherford Ohio, 74, Scottish-born, paralysis after a stroke. Both families informed. funeral attendance uncertain.
A divorce decree grants custody to Mrs Fisher of Wichita Kansas over the couple's child. The decree, issued by Judge Thoreton W Sargent, names Noble Fisher as the other party. The case notes Mrs Fisher was previously married to Minnie Della Loa.
