Funeral services were led Monday for Mrs. Sarah Jane Hearn Heard, 63, who died Sunday at the county hospital after chronic Brights disease and an operation. Interment followed in the local cemetery. She had lived with her son Jest Beard in town for the past year and left three daughters, Mrs. Joseph Taylor, Mr. Robinson of Arkansas, and Mr. Hicke Whitt of Colorado. Moonshine Suspects Arrested After Road Stop
Deputy Sheriff Ormeby stopped a car between Rock Creek and Hansen on Thursday. He searched the vehicle after spotting furtive behavior and found a five gallon keg of moonshine. The two men, Conscience and Guilty counselopers, were jailed and charged. W. S. Mallory charged with illegal possession of illegal monicasly and bound over to district court.
