The Story of My Club Work in 1919
In early spring 1919 Miss Spenes visited schools to inspire girls to join sewing clubs. The narrator joined the Bulletin Sewing Club, with older girls forming the Bulletin Club and younger joining Red Cross Sewing. They practiced yells for the Annual Club Festival, made needlework pieces, and earned a third premium at the fair. The annual Club Festival picnic was at the Fair Grounds in Filer, Boise trips discussed, and plans for a second year of Bulletin Sewing contemplated.
