Community Christmas Tree and Santa Claus Meeting on Voters

A public meeting at Filer Rural High School gathered about one hundred landowners of the Twin Falls Canal area to contest the recent canal company election. Attorney Mr Hackman was hired to investigate alleged irregularities and possible contest of the election. A fundraising committee was formed to support the legal action aimed at validating water allotments and voting rights for landowners.

Walters Return From East To Stock Show Tour

Walters and HB Walker returned early this week from a trip that covered the International Stock Show in Chicago Ohio and other middle western points. They report Chicago's show as the largest in history with Livestock exhibits highly impressive for stockmen. Colonel Walter says he enforced three state rules and declined another in Ohio that would disrupt other dates here. He attended a Percheron Horse Breeders Association of America meeting and a Shorthorn Breeders Congress banquet.

Home Service Extended By Red Cross In Idaho Towns

Mrs A A Timm executive secretary of the Home Service states after a Twin Falls visit that the Red Cross will extend home service to civilians and ex service men in towns without local charities. Filer Kimberly Hollister Hansen and other small places gain official oversight to aid the poor and destitute. Previously aid limited to homes supported by servicemen but now open to all in need.

Sommer Return to Filer in Winter Plans and Ventures

Mr and Mrs G Sommer announce their return to Filer from Southern California where they spent the winter with the Filer colony at Lone Beach. They bought a fine home at Long Haven and expect to visit again. Sommer plans a big move in the next two months and says he erred in selling his farm for 44000, expecting higher value.

Willam D Persell Dies Suddenly Tuesday Evening

William D Persell aged 82 died Tuesday evening at his daughter Mire Cynthia Met is in. He arrived December 1 from Bloomington, Nebr. He was born April 18, 1897 in Bourbon county Kentucky and married Jemina Dodwn in 1869. He served seven months in the Union Army and was a Mennonite church member for 25 years. Survived by two daughters, four sons, 25 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. funeral at Mennonite Meetinghouse in Uhret church pending arrival of relatives.

Record office expands to handle growing patronage

The Record will increase floor space by a third through an arrangement with HG Munyon. The rear half of the Munyon offices becomes part of The Record office, the partition will be removed, and by week’s end the newspaper expects to occupy larger, more efficient quarters.

Filer High School Hostess Waffle Luncheon Report

A senior class fundraiser at Filer High School offered a waffle luncheon at two cent per plate. The menu included waffles, batter, syrup, sausage and knives. Total receipts reached $20.75 with $5.20 remaining after expenses, and twenty nine Red Cross seals were paid at the rural high school in two days.
