The annual football banquet honors the 1925 squad and alumni at the high school. Elmer Adkins presided as toastmaster as Gordon Diehl, last two years’ fullback and three year letter man, was announced captain and pledged to lead the team to do the utmost for the season. Letters went to Adkins Conant Monte Banly Hall Villers Strap Atkinson Patten Murphy and Haintine. The event featured remarks by seniors alumni and faculty with an impromptu program by the school musicians and students.

Memorial for Steunenberg Memorial Proposal Made
One hundred dollars was raised in the grant for the effort to raise twenty thousand dollars for the proposed Steunenberg memorial. Frank Steunenberg, Idaho governor martyred, died December twentieth, 1906. Plans include a statue before the state house. Funeral for George Leonard Held as One of Towns Largest
Hundreds gathered for the funeral of George Leonard at St Andrews Catholic Church. The service at 10 am drew overflow crowds in cold weather, followed by a lengthy procession to the cemetery. Leonard, a Filer pioneer and community leader, died unexpectedly from a heart ailment the prior Saturday night. He is survived by his wife and several children.
