More than 300 members of Twit Fale and Buhl lodges Knights of Pythias and Pythian Sisters attended the annual sage hen dinner and a friendly baseball game between teams from Buhl and Twin Falls lodges. The score was not recorded in full but Twin Falls won in a lively contest. Afterward a large picnic dinner, races for children, and dessert followed in the fair grounds dining hall with thanks to the grounds board and Secretary Markel for arrangements.

Carnival Dance Anthem to Add Feature at Reybroco Hall

The Filer Business Women's club announces a Carnival Dance next Friday at Reybroco Hall with the Blue Bird orchestra providing music. A prize and various carnival features are planned to entertain a large number of patrons.

Scenic Wonders of Central Idaho Rival Big National Parks

R. A. Reynolds and family with others completed a 500 mile trip in a Reynolds Packard through Halley Galena summit Cape Horn to Maho City in central Idaho and Boise. Reynolds says mountain passes were hazardous and would not repeat the crossing in a larger car. The party included Mrs and Mrs and Richard Reynolds Marjorie Hinkle and others from Twin Falls.

O. J. Childs Opens Independent Grain Venture

O J Childs, after ten years as local manager for Farmers Grain and Milling, resigned last week to launch into grain, bean, hay and seed sales as an independent dealer with grain loading equipment at Curry, Filer and Peavey. BE A Landon, previously with Farmers Grain and Milling, takes the fill vacated by Childs and will head the operation.

New Realty Firm Announced By Anderson and Ripley

Arthur EK Anderson and EB Ripley announce a new realty firm forming in the community. The Anderson insurance office will serve as headquarters. Both men are pioneer real estate operators and bring extensive experience to the venture. Ripley will serve as the outside man while Anderson continues his insurance and other lines.

Optimistic Bean Crop Outlook From Salt Lake Visitor

Fraud Alleged by Roseworth Settlers in Idaho Case

Two caravaners from New York sue in district court for 6410.08 and 828.55 against Ki. Meredith and Tai Ho Farm Development over the Roseworth project near Buhl Idaho. They claim nineteen fraudulent representations and seek return of land and improvements plus time compensation. They say they were taken to West Yellowstone Montana to sign power of attorney for lands not drawn in New York.

Village Board Certifies Tax Levy To County

At an adjourned meeting the village board certified the tax levies for Improvement District No. 1 and Local Printing District No. 1 to the county auditor. The paving district assessment is about 7,198 and the sprinkling district about 1,265 dollars. The board ordered street lights on Hone Street and Adelavenue near the highway, Sixth Street and Adelavenue corner, and near the O S L depot. The railroad company confirmed laying mains and city water in the eastern stockyards, marking the culmination of years of effort. Trustee G. Davis and Deputy Agent I. Brennan credited for convincing U S authorities of the need.

Smoke Filled Store Early Morning Mystery

A dense cloud of smoke at Drake Furniture on Morgan block drew Fire Chief Grover Davie and Marshal Allen to the scene between 12 and 1 AM. Investigators could not determine the source, suspecting the adjacent meat market’s smoking room as a possible origin. Frankees, who died earlier, had been cared for by Mr. Drake prior to the incident.
