South Central District Track Meet Set for Friday at Filer
Mecca for top high school athletes as South Central District Track and Field opens at the county fair grounds at 1 20 pm. About 150 competitors from about 20 schools including Minidoka Bliss Wood River area join in with Twin Falls band providing music. Cups awarded for first and second place. 15 events scheduled from sprints to field events.

Meat Company Enjoined From Leasing Place
The U S Meat company with a Twin Falls branch was enjoined from installing new fixtures in a building recently sublet by Jacob Schacter. Judge W A Babcock ordered a temporary injunction last week after Charlies M Smith sued Dumke, with MEfidavit backing, raising bond to 3500 to cover potential damages. The court noted lease allows subletting and alterations not harming the structure, with jury to decide on permanent machinery issues. The case, handled by Porter Witham and Hamten for the plaintiff and Bothwell Chapman and E V Larson for defendants, will resurface in JE17 in about three weeks.

Big Track Meet Shuts Local Businesses For Filer Event
Local merchants agree to close shops Friday afternoon for the Filer field and track tournament. Events begin at 1:30 PM with trials in the forenoon and the main program in the afternoon. Anthony erects radio station in Filer Idaho
Anthony, a local electrician and manager George Anthony, earns Idaho Power credit for establishing the first radio station in Filer. He lives on North Street in the J. L. Edwards property. He received his set Sunday and, with skillful work, had it up and tuned before midnight to Los Angeles and coast stations. Monday he heard Portland and the Los Angeles station tied to Ties broadcasting. Programs include vocal and instrumental selections, comedy, late news, and addresses. Static conditions are ideal for this season of the year, but the Anthony family enjoys the initial programs.

Fire destroys Clover apiary in wind storm
Cloverview apiary owned by Edmund Ulrich in Clover was leveled last Wednesday afternoon when a strong wind fueled a blaze started by Ulrich and his son. About 40 stands of bees and equipment burned, wiping out the Clover ranchman’s apiary business no insurance covered the stock. Ulrich plans to rebuild the bee and honey enterprise despite the loss and expected revenue setback this season.

Mrs. 8 C Hoffman learned Monday that Jobe Richard Redmond aged eighty seven died in Salt Lake City following a birthday anniversary. Surviving family attended. he remained in good health and read newspapers without glasses on the day of his death.

The Citizens' ticket was elected in Piler'a municipal election on Tuesday. Seven candidates vied for five trustee seats. two incumbents remain, Guy H. Shearer as chairman and Grover C. Davis. Frost Damage Reported to Canyon Orchards
John Gourley visited from the Snake River ranch and said Friday night frost damaged the canyon crops. He estimates half the apricot crop lost as the fruit was in bloom and notes the peach trees show serious injury from the frost.
