Stop Fishing in Magic Reservoir by Inland Order

County to Save in Retrenchment Plans Under Way

Boise Payette Lumber Buys Nibley Channel Yard

BOISE E Curtis Warren former head of the First National Bank of Burley and Arnold E Smith cashier with Richard D Waltermire assistant cashier were acquitted after a federal trial on charges of misapplication and false entries. Prosecutor Davis asked to resubmit the case with conspiracy and fund abstraction charges, and Judge Dietrich scheduled a hearing for April 15.

Driver Escapes Death as Train Destroys Car Near Peavey
Harold Robinson, about 25, narrowly escaped serious injury when his car was struck and demolished by a westbound passenger train at Peavey crossing. Witness C. E. Clarx said Robinson swerved to ditch the car but the engine hit it rearward, pushing it along the tracks for over 100 feet. Robinson was treated in Buhl and later returned home, where he is recovering. Train crew expressed regret for the incident.

Meat Market And Cafe Ready To Open After Fire
The Filer cafe reopened this morning under manager Dou Pang after an extended visit in the Orient. The cafe occupies half the former room with Peoples Meat Market leasing the east half. HE. U W. Fowler, meat market manager, says the shop will open to the public Saturday morning after a three week closure due to a destructive fire. Reopening signals a return to normal for town business as plasterers, painters, carpenters, and Kealse miners completed renovations and sanitation work. The Pirth National tank and the Dewin Hammerquist store fixtures were also repainted by local painters.

Field and Track Tournament Slated for Filer District
Filer Rural high school will host the South Central Idaho district field and track meet at the county fair grounds on Friday April 27.
