Rest Room Fund Boost Plan Via Benefit Concert

Announcement of a bene fit concert to raise funds for a rest-room fund. The event is set for Wednesday evening April 30 at the Gem theater under the auspices of the Filer Woman's Club. Twin Falls musicians provide most of the program. tickets available at Modern Drug Shop. Mrs G H Shearer chairs the committee handling arrangements. The venue has moved from the Methodist church to the Gem theater to better cover costs.

Legion Meet Fixed for Pocatello Convention

Pocatello Post No. 4 American Legion announces the state convention will be held in Pocatello August 7 to 9. The event will include the state auxiliary convention and La Societe Des 40 Hommes et Chevaux. About 1000 veterans are expected in Pocatello for the three days.

Over-Subscribing Funds For U P Right-Of-Way Drive

A local drive to raise funds for purchasing a right-of-way through Utah Construction lands for the Union Pacific Welle-Rogerson railroad surpassed expectations last week with $400 in cash secured. The county total reached $16,000, oversubscribed by nearly $2,000, and more contributions continued today. The effort was led by George Leonard, with other supporters including Earl Munyon and W. M. Name Registrars Named for Election Voters in County Precincts

W. Y. Shine was named registrar of voters for this precinct by the county commissioners in session Monday. Twenty-seven other persons were named to serve in similar capacities in other county precincts. Registrars will peg hooks in each precinct for registration beginning May 3. Other registrars include Mrs Hierer, Mrs Laura Anderson, Thomets, G. A. Thamert, Clever, and Fred Roper Berger.

Flames Consume Early Day Church Building

A fire destroyed the Union avenue and Midway corner building in Filer, once the Mennonite Brothers in Christ church. The home of B. Hudelson family and the former church, erected around 1907, burned after 2 am Tuesday. Neighbors aided some evacuees as wind kept flames focused on the structure. The family escaped with little property. the church contents were a total loss. The owner, Warner Nicholson, holds the premises now.
